The author, self-described as “a pilgrim on the pathway of faith seeking understanding,” provides an autobiographical review of those nineteenth and twentieth century figures who have caught his attention in research and teaching over forty years. It is an insightful critical analysis, leading to the contention that now in the twenty-first century, the emphasis should be on the development of religious language that can facilitate dialogue between religions. As autobiographical, this work is unique, timely, a commendable tract for our times.
